Our Commitment
Ament Law Group, P.C. embraces technology that enhances the quality and efficiency of our legal services while maintaining the professional judgment, competence, and confidentiality obligations that Pennsylvania's Rules of Professional Conduct require. This policy explains how we use artificial intelligence ("AI") in our practice and on this website.
Use of AI in Legal Services
Our attorneys may use AI tools to assist with legal research, document drafting, document review, and other tasks in connection with providing legal services. When we use AI in this capacity:
Professional oversight. All AI-assisted work product is reviewed by a licensed Pennsylvania attorney before it is relied upon or delivered to a client. AI does not make legal decisions for our firm, our attorneys do.
Accuracy and competence. We do not rely on AI output without independent verification. Consistent with our obligations under Pennsylvania Rule of Professional Conduct 1.1 (Competence), our attorneys review AI-assisted work for accuracy, completeness, and applicability to the specific matter.
Confidentiality. We take reasonable measures to protect client confidentiality when using AI, consistent with our obligations under Pennsylvania Rule of Professional Conduct 1.6. We do not input client-identifying information into public or open-source AI systems without appropriate safeguards. Our practice management tools that incorporate AI functionality operate in secure, access-controlled environments.
Transparency. Upon request, we will disclose which tasks or work product involved the use of AI tools. If we identify any material errors in AI-assisted output that may affect the legal services provided, we will promptly notify the affected client.
Billing. Our transparent billing — with fees agreed up front — means that our use of AI tools to increase efficiency benefits our clients directly. We do not charge clients for AI tool costs separately, and the use of AI to streamline a task does not increase our fees.
AI Features on This Website
This website does not currently offer an AI chat assistant. If we add AI-powered features in the future, the principles below will apply to them, and they apply now to any interactive tools and forms on this site:
Not legal advice. Our website content, calculators, and checklists provide general information only. They do not provide legal advice, and their output should not be relied upon as a substitute for consultation with a licensed attorney.
No attorney-client relationship. Using this website, its tools, or its forms does not create an attorney-client relationship. An attorney-client relationship with Ament Law Group is established only through a signed engagement letter, after conflicts are cleared.
Privacy. If you provide personal information through a form on this site, that information is transmitted to our firm for the purpose of following up on your inquiry. We do not sell personal information. We disclose information only as described in our Privacy Policy, including to the service providers that operate our communications and intake systems.
Our Position on AI-Generated Legal Documents
We have seen an increase in clients and prospective clients using AI tools and online services to generate legal documents, wills, powers of attorney, operating agreements, contracts, and other instruments. While these tools can produce documents that appear professional, they carry significant risks that we believe every consumer should understand.
AI tools and online document services cannot evaluate your specific legal situation, account for how Pennsylvania law applies to your particular facts, or anticipate the ways a document may fail when tested in practice. These services universally disclaim that they are not law firms and do not provide legal advice. We encourage anyone considering these tools to read our practice area pages, which address these risks in detail for each area of law we handle.
Updates to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, available technology, or applicable ethical rules. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
