Ament Law Group, P.C. ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you visit our website at www.ament.law.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide. When you use our contact form, schedule a consultation, or otherwise communicate with us, we may collect your name, email address, phone number (including mobile number), mailing address, and the content of your message or inquiry.

Mobile Phone Number. If you provide your mobile phone number, it may be used to send you text messages (SMS) related to our legal services, including appointment reminders, case updates, and scheduling confirmations. Your mobile number is shared with our SMS service provider, Twilio, solely for the purpose of delivering these messages. Your phone number is not sold, shared for marketing purposes, or disclosed to any other third parties except as required by law.

Case Management System. Information you submit through our contact forms, including your name, email address, phone number, and the details of your inquiry, is transmitted to our secure case management platform for intake processing and client communication. This system may also be used to send you follow-up correspondence, including secure intake forms via email.

Automatically Collected Information. When you visit our website, we may automatically collect certain information about your device, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, and pages viewed. Our hosting and security providers process technical request information to deliver and protect the website. Google Analytics and browser storage are described below.

Cookies, Analytics, and Browser Storage

Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand visits and interactions with our website, such as consultation-link clicks and resource downloads. Analytics runs by default. It stays off if you turn it off using Analytics preferences in the footer, or if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, which we treat as a request to turn analytics off. Events that occur while analytics is off are not saved for later transmission.

When enabled, Google Analytics uses first-party cookies, including _ga and _ga_<identifier>, to distinguish visitors and sessions. Their default lifetime is up to two years, subject to browser restrictions and cookie settings. We disable Google advertising storage, advertising personalization, and Google signals in our site configuration. See Google's explanation of Analytics cookies and Google's Privacy Policy.

Your choice. Where your browser permits, we remember your analytics choice in local storage for 180 days using alg_analytics_consent_v1. You can change it at any time using Analytics preferences in the footer. Turning analytics off disables further Google Analytics measurement on this site and removes accessible Google Analytics cookies set for this site. It does not erase information already transmitted to Google. Clearing browser storage, using a different browser or device, or expiration of the saved choice returns the site to its default.

Other browser storage. Interactive checklists save progress in local storage, and our download feature stores a count used to decide when to display a download request form. A dismissed welcome message is remembered for the browser session. These functions operate independently of optional Google Analytics. While analytics is on, we may also store the campaign source of your visit in session storage and include that source with an inquiry you submit. Turning analytics off clears that stored campaign source. You can remove browser storage through your browser settings; doing so may reset saved checklist progress and other preferences.

Maps and intake services. The Google map on our contact page loads only when you select Load Google Map; opening the directions link takes you to Google Maps. Either action connects to Google, whose own privacy and cookie practices apply. Secure intake forms and the client portal use our separate AmentCase service, which processes information needed to provide the service you request. Turning off Google Analytics does not prevent you from contacting us, submitting forms, using our tools, or downloading resources.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to respond to your inquiries and provide legal services, communicate with you about our services (including via SMS/text message for appointment reminders and case-related updates), improve our website and user experience, and comply with applicable legal obligations.

Disclosure of Your Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information with service providers who assist us in operating our website or conducting our business (including Twilio for SMS/text message delivery and our case management platform for client intake and matter tracking), when required by law, regulation, or legal process, and to protect the rights, safety, or property of Ament Law Group, our clients, or the public.

Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Third-Party Links

Our website may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites and encourage you to read their privacy policies.

Your Choices

You may opt out of receiving communications from us by contacting us directly. To stop receiving text messages, reply STOP to any message or contact our office. Opting out of texts will not affect your ability to receive legal services. To unsubscribe from our email newsletter, click the "Unsubscribe" link at the bottom of any newsletter email or visit ament.law/unsubscribe. Use Analytics preferences in the footer to turn Google Analytics on or off. Browser settings also let you manage cookies and other stored website data.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
